Activity 07 — BI-WÔRI Practical Workshops

Leave the festival better equipped to find your path

Many young people have talent but don’t know how to present it. In just a few hours, the practical workshops pass on immediately useful know-how: a clear CV, a successful interview, a better understanding of the routes into work.

The workshops

Four workshops, one goal: employment

Proposed programme, in small groups, at midday during the festival.

WORKSHOP 1

Write a CV that gets noticed

Structure your background, highlight experience even if informal (farm work, family trade, volunteering), avoid common mistakes. Every participant leaves with a draft CV.

WORKSHOP 2

Succeed at your interview

Introduce yourself in two minutes, answer classic questions, adopt the right attitude. Mock interviews with personalised feedback.

WORKSHOP 3

Find routes into work and training

Where to look for job offers, which public employment and training schemes exist, how to avoid job scams.

WORKSHOP 4

Use digital tools well

Create a professional email address, look after your online image, apply from your phone.

Who it's for

Open to all young people, no prerequisites

  • Young people with or without qualifications looking for work
  • Pupils and students preparing for their future
  • Young people looking to retrain or gain new skills
What to bring: something to write with and, if possible, a phone. Free participation, limited places per workshop.
Method

Learning by doing

Small groups

Small groups so everyone can practise and ask questions.

Hands-on exercises

Practical exercises instead of long lectures: write, practise, improve.

A personal output

Every participant leaves with a usable tool: a CV, an elevator pitch, a list of resources.

Professionals, recruiters, HR

Share your experience for the length of a workshop

Workshops are led by volunteer professionals: HR managers, business owners, employment advisers, members of the diaspora. A few hours of your time can change someone’s path.

Companies

Associate your employer brand with the employment of young people in the region.

Institutions

Present your public employment and training schemes directly to young people.
